Golden Lane in Queensland

"I was apprehensive to come here because their food was declining in quality. Tonight is the first time I dined here since the change of ownership. OMG, what a stark contrast to the old golden lane. They have new team of chef and kitchen staff. Food was not too oily, well-balanced flavour, higher quality, different menu, caulilini as seasonal vege, and Spanish melon as dessert. I like the hand shredded free range chicken which is very moist. The free range chicken and pig stomach soup is very delicious. The claypot seafood tofu has generous amount of seafood. We also had the glutinous rice with Chinese sausage which is also delicious. The stir fried kueyteow is not oily like the other restaurants. The texture is just right with generous amount of meat. Overall, the food portion is generous, not salty, well-balanced flavour. I will definitely return! I'm already craving for the soup!"

"Went there on Saturday around 12 noon. A few items like pineapple buns, barbecue pork pastry were already sold out. Soon after we finished eating, waiter came and cleared the table right a way and asked us to remove the belongings. It's a bit too rush and unfriendly. Dim sums in general were tasty and worth a try."

"This place has consistently tasty food, especially for brunch! The procedure for this place is slightly different to most restaurants as you enter the place, get seated, take the white ticket and you go to the front corner to order your food (and bring them to your table) yourself. We ordered custard buns - soft and fluffy with a sweet yellow custard filling. Prawn dumplings- the outer shell is always soft and chewy. Chicken feet- great flavour. Beef- chewy and flavourful. Dim sums- classic and just the right crunch. Sticky Rice Dumplings- very tasty, filling, and has a little bit of meat in it. We ordered a plate of small fried fish- visually appealing and light even as a fried dish. This order did take a while to get brought up and we had trouble finding staff to check if it was done. Worth the wait though. The interior is designed to be spacious and give you that atmosphere of bustle and food. As a result, it can be a little difficult to find staff if you need anything."

"Yum cha here us top knotwhen it comes to taste. They make their own dumplings. There is no more staff going around pushing the food trolley anymore. Food was so nummy, we ate the first round, before I realised I didn't take pics. It was Monday, 12 pm and the place was pretty full. Lots of elderly Chinese couples, n that my friend is how you know you came to the right place for yum cha!"
